Dash Express GPS

Friday, April 18, 2008

Has anyone in the Metro area purchased a Dash Express GPS System ?  This is going to be or is the next best thing in GPS.  It’s an always connected to the internet GPS system which figures out routes based on speeds of other Dash GPS systems.  Basically telling you when Interstate 66 or the Beltway is a parking lot.  Watch the Demo to see it’s other features or check out the blog .   I was thinking about getting one of these.  Only drawback is the monthly subscription .  Maybe the folks over at Dash can send one over so that I can review it and sanitize the market in DC! ;-)

Boooring. This isn’t a really good blogpost, and now you are begging for a free unit. Show some more spunk!

No no… Not begging at all… I am just wondering how many people have the Dash in the DC area. If you read what the Dash is all about it works best with multiple units in the area.

Yes, I have a Dash and there are a handful of other area users I see on the Dash forums. Whether or not the subscription fees are worthwhile depend partly on how you use a gps unit. To me it’s worthwhile just to not have to bother with purchasing future map updates and to have the connected search. The “True Traffic” is another bonus that has helped me avoid getting stuck on several occasions already.

The unit is far from perfect as a standalone gps but with the connected updates that will improve as time goes on.

John are you from the DC Metro area? I’m wondering if you are getting real time traffic updates with the dash?
