Save Gas, Telecommute

Monday, July 7, 2008

One way to save on gas is to telecommute and DC is the best city to do it in. Forbes has recently put out a report that says DC residents are at the top of the list to be able to reduce there gas bills! The Biggest gas saver would be to telecommute and Forbes said that the Government should start allowing employees to do so.

With Gas prices on the rise and expected to make a 5-10 cent jump in the next week or two, more and more employees are going to be trying to make this jump. Here at the Library I only know of one or two employees that are telecommuting. Sometimes I wonder how effective it really is? So let’s have a poll, How many in your office are telecommuting?

Will you Vote in the DC Primary (09.09.2008)?

Or even better then telecommuting… people should live close to where they work. It’s so wonderful to be able to walk to work.

I think the only thing truly keeping me from telecommuting at the moment is the dog slow VPN connection I’d have to use to get to the intranet where I do 95% of my work :(

Yeah…I think another problem is allowing contractors to connect to Federal Gov’t VPN Networks. I know that I one reason why not many people here do it.
