Do you like watching planes land and take off? Ever since 9/11 security has been pretty tight and it is hard to find a good place to sit and watch planes take-off and land. However, at Gravelly Point just outside of the district limits in Arlington, Virginia you can sit and do just this.  It brings all kinds of people out from aviators to kids to get a glimpse at how close your are to the planes.   Make sure you bring some water and protection from the sun and a nice comfy chair.  This park is never empty and has a bike/walking/running trail that passes through.  Make sure you are aware of the bikers and runners when walking and crossing the trail.  If you are a aviation lover then you may spend some time here if not it is a cool place to see if you are passing by.
