10 Things You’ll Miss About Washington, DC
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
Washington, DC has a ton to offer and you may not realize what it really has until you don’t have it anymore? Elizabeth of Go Green Travel Green posted “10 Things I’ll Miss About Washington, DC.“ Her list of 10 included
- The Metro (D.C.’s subway system)
- Politics
- Washington Post (especially the Sunday edition)
- Variety of Restaurants
- Diversity
- Neighborhoods (especially Eastern Market, Dupont Circle, and U Street)
- Free Stuff to Do (like the Smithsonian Museums)
- Walking Everywhere
- D.C. Public Library
- The Monuments (during the day and night)
So what would you miss most if you had to move out of DC? My list is still sort of short since I have only been in DC less than a year but I think “A Variety of Ethinic Resturants” would be in the top 5 and “Politics” would be near the bottom.

Yeah, really distinct neighborhoods would be right up there. I <3 Eastern Market.
I would totally miss the metro. The subway in Philadelphia smells and is used like an unkept public restroom. Gross.
@Justin Thorp: yeah Eastern Market would be missed. I think all the Museums would be at the top of the list too
