Eleanor Holmes Norton: Ignorantly off the Mark & Amateur Decisions
Sunday, January 4, 2009
In response to this, Eleanor Holmes Norton wants to set up hearings on the hill on how airlines should handle these types of situations. Norton says that AirTrain was, “ignorantly off the mark” when it removed the nine passengers from the airline after passengers got scared when they were discussing the safest places to sit. Norton goes on to say “airlines let “amateurs” make serious decisions, and that Congress has an obligation to address the incidents. [wtop]”
Why doesn’t Congress step in when Comcast or other large companies make “Amateur” decisions?

Well, sadly, we are living in a paraniod society of our own making. If you don’t like it, stop being scared of your shadow, the bogey man or terrorists around every corner. Your odds of being killed on Metro are higher than dying in a plane crash, even lower if it is caused by terrorists.
Expecting Congress to do anything is just burying your head in the sand. After all, they are partially responsible for the state of paranoia.
