Metro Job & Service Cuts

Monday, January 26, 2009

There are talks again that Metro is going to cut about 8% of its work force (900 jobs) in order to meet its budget numbers. Metro has to close about $190 million gap in the budget. One big question that everyone has is about fares. Metro chairman of the Board, Chris Zimmerman says that fares will remain the same. Some service that may be cut could include bus routes and disability services. Decisions will not be made until after a public hearing in March.
