The Wheels Popped Off
UPDATE: Maybe I am reading into this to much on the wheels popping off but read this quote from the Metro,
The equipment had been involved in overnight track maintenance work downtown and was headed back to the rail yard when the wheels popped off, Metro says.
This sounds like the wheels came off the car causing the truck to derail right?

This morning when I got up to look at the news, which there really isn’t any, I noticed that WTOP is reporting a 40 minute delay on the orange line because of a maintenance vehicle which had derailed. Looking further into the article a Metro spokesperson says that the maintenance vehicles wheels had popped off while returning to the yard. What… The wheels came off it? If Metro can’t keep up the safety on its maintenance vehicles what makes you think that they will keep up service on the public trains? How does a vehicles wheels just “pop” off?
Anyways, Metro’s twitter account for the orange line, DCMetroOrange is saying nothing about a delay just that there is a disruption at court house.
