It’s Free and they Still Don’t Use It!

At work I live by the phrase, “How can you make a decision on something if you haven’t looked at the stats or used it?” This is something that WMATA Board Members should think about. WTOP is reporting, and I don’t think it’s a shock to anyone, that 1/2 of the Metro board members don’t use the subway. The very subway that they are making decisions on! The members that don’t ride the subway, Jim Graham, Betty Hewlett, William D. Euille, Neil O. Albert, and Michael Brown, should not be allowed to vote. Maybe Metro should enact a policy where they have to ride twice a week. It’s not like they have to pay for there trip, they are already special!

Not only do they not ride the train, they all have a free pass, so functionally, those of us that ride are paying for their non-use…
I agree, it is tough to rule on whether to keep or get rid of a service or part of the service if you have no real knowledge of the service…and reading a report by a consultant is not the same.
