Metro: We Don’t Care If You Have a Federal Conviction!

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

This is an update/reference to the post about “Guns, Sex, and Drugs: Apply Now to be a Metro Operator!

We now need to add something to the sort of Killings and Federal convictions to this title but I’m not sure how to do it. I’ll leave that one for the readers. A couple days ago I called out Metro on it’s hiring practices and posted that they should

…release statistics of employees that are responsible for people in there daily job that have been arrested by each charge

Why, because you remember last week in the news when a Metro employee was shot and killed when he tried to rob an off duty police officer? Well more facts have come out about his criminal background. It appears that this person was charged with killing two people and served 10 years in federal prison for armed robbery. He in fact he was hired to be your Metro bus driver just 2 months after getting out of the federal pen!

But wait, It’s not over yet. Slay, the metro bus driver, had a great childhood too! He was charged with two felony convictions and arrests in two different homicides.

Now why didn’t Metro pick up any of these convictions during there hiring process?

I call for Metro to put in place a hiring freeze, not like they are hiring anyone, and go employee by employee and fire anyone that has a felony like they said they do and would!

Do you trust these people carting you around the district in buses and trains?
